It is a matter of great pride and joy to commemorate the 77th Independence Day, marking 76 years of freedom. The theme for this year’s celebration is Nation First, Always First,’ an integral part of the broader Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ Celebration. The unanimous decision of the public at the time of independence to adopt Democracy where the people rule themselves is one of the biggest advancements for any civil society. However, social plights have hollowed out the concrete foundational efforts to create a just and prosperous state. Fights against atrocities, corruption, and social plights have been regarded as priorities for both government as well as non-government civil societies in the expedition of a more flourishing society. Lots of educational research, integration as well as professional practices are pursued to tackle all the hindrances in the journey of development. With the advancement of technologies, the mode of operation becomes easily handled and more accurate. Better monitoring and evaluation methods are adopted for maximizing the efficiency of the projects and programs. However, the digital divide is the most frictional element when it comes to the effective operations of technologies at the very grassroot democracy i.e Village Panchayat (the third tier of democracy). It is essential to bridge this gap by providing access to digital infrastructure and literacy to all citizens. This will enable them to participate in governance and decision-making processes, thereby ensuring that democracy is truly “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”In conclusion, we must strive towards creating a just and prosperous society by prioritizing social welfare and bridging technological gaps.Let us pledge to work together towards achieving our common goal of a better tomorrow.
