HEALTH & NUTRITION

India stands today at the 134th position in the human development index among the community of nations. This is despite having one of the most impressive economic growth rates for nearly a decade. Despite significant gains in maternal mortality and infant mortality, the nation would fail to achieve the millennium development goals unless there is considerable strengthening of public health systems and re-design of key health strategies meant to address these problems. In addressing under-nutrition, the nation has fallen so far behind that it would be almost impossible to catch up to the developing nation’s average by 2015.

RECENT INTERVENTIONS

Thousands of children and women benefited from our health and nutrition initiatives. We constantly organised capacity building sessions on reproductive and child health, nutrition of children along with several health camps that assisted communities screening health issues, providing medication, special care for pregnant and lactating mothers etc. Additionally, we served nutritious meals to our children beneficiaries at different education centres.
